Blog: LED Word Board

What are some of the words that spring to mind when you first think about LED lighting? LED can be a mind-field to those not in the know, so we’ve created this simple word board that shows you some of the terms, benefits, features and names behind the technology as well as some of the areas you may find LED installed – such as in signage, flood lighting and lamps.

You may recognise some, like light emitting diode, lux, energy efficiency and fluorescent – but others are more obscure, like Shuji Nakamura. He is regarded as the inventor of the modern LED. He invented the blue LED, which was a major breakthrough in lighting technology. He visited Sedna at Lux Live in 2013.
